HIB Handball Graz

What counts for us is community and the joy of playing handball. It is not for nothing that our club motto is Handball in our blood.

The hard work in the club pays off season after season: many of our youth teams become Styrian champions and represent our state at the Austrian championships. The first national championship title in the club's history was won by the U18 boys' team in the 2016/17 season, and they did it in front of a home crowd.

In the 2020/21 season, the U14 boys' team was able to repeat this success and also secure the national championship title in front of a home crowd. Our women's team (EHF Challenge Cup) and men's team (ÖHB Cup Final Four) also celebrated great successes.

Especially rewarding for a development club: several talents have made the leap and now play for top teams both domestically and abroad, as well as for the Austrian national team and junior squads.

We see ourselves as a development club and therefore place great value on youth work. From U10 to U18, we field at least one team in every age group – for both girls and boys. In addition, the HIB Mini Minis offer a program for the youngest ones (~4 - 10 years old). With our women's (1st league) and men's (2nd league) teams, we can also offer our players long-term prospects in Graz.

As a handball club in Austria, we face significant challenges regarding our infrastructure and sponsorship. Both areas require urgent improvements and expansion to meet the needs of our players and to further develop the sport of handball.

Acquiring reliable sponsors is essential to secure the financial future of our club and to realize our sporting ambitions. These challenges demand constant dedication and an innovative spirit from every single person on our team.
